The third volume of the English translation continues the commentary on Sūrah al-Baqarah, covering verses 183–223, with a focus on the theological, ethical, and societal dimensions of these verses. This volume discusses fasting during Ramaḍān, its spiritual and communal significance, and the rationale behind its legislation (verses 183–185). It emphasizes fasting as a means to attain taqwā (piety) and explains the relationship between abstinence and spiritual growth. The symbolism of the month of Ramaḍān as the time when the Qur’ān was revealed is also explored. The commentary examines the issues of social justice, particularly regarding financial ethics and the prohibition of unlawful transactions (verses 188–195). It also reflects on Ḥajj as a spiritual institution, outlining the rituals and their connection to humanity’s ultimate return to God (verses 196–203). Broader ethical themes include interpersonal relationships, such as the prohibition of specific marriages and maintaining mutual respect (verses 222–223).
