This volume begins with the story of Maryam (Mary) and her selection by God (verses 42–47). ʿAllāmah Ṭabāṭabaʿī examines Mary’s spiritual status, her miraculous conception of Prophet Jesus (a.s.), and the announcement of his prophethood. The commentary then addresses the characteristics of Prophet Jesus (a.s.), his miracles, and his mission to the Children of Israel (verses 48–63). Particular focus is given to the Qur’ānic refutation of Christian doctrines such as the Trinity and the deification of Jesus. A substantial part of this volume engages with historical and theological critiques of Judaism and Christianity.
