This second edition volume 6 of Tafsīr al-Mīzān comprises of the tafsīr of Sūrah Āl-Imrān which began in Eng. volume 5 and continues in this volume from verse 42 up to verse 120.

According to the author, it appears that Sūrah Āl-Imrān was revealed when Islam had begun to spread in Arabia but had not yet established a firm foothold outside Medina. The chapter mentions the battle of Uḥud, describes the planned imprecation with the Christians of Najrān; speaks about the Jews and exhorts the believers against the polytheists; and in all these discourses, there is a constant refrain telling them to remain patient and united. It supports the view that this sūrah was revealed at a time when the Muslims were engaged in defense of religion with all their might and when all their resources were devoted to this one task.

In this volume, the author has presented a comprehensive discussion regarding Prophet Jesus, his mother Mary and in particular, the Qur’anic refutation of the Christian concept of Trinity (tathlith). The author has also studied the various matters pertaining to Prophet Jesus and the Christian beliefs and dogmas from various angles in seven sections. Included, are two separate discussions of historical nature concerning the Old Testament, the New Testament, Christ and the Four Gospels (Luke, Mathew, Mark and John). All of their different aspects have been carefully analyzed.

The volume comes to an end with the Qur’anic and historical account of the history of the Holy Kaʿbah and other related matters.
